Childhood Dream To Professional Reality.
Even as kids, Davis and Mark would sit around the kitchen table with their father sketching out the perfect golf holes. Little did they know that their dream of designing golf courses would one day come to fruition. What started as childhood scribbling turned into reality when LGD got their first project on the South Carolina Coast : The Ocean Creek Golf Club at Fripp Island Resort.

Inspiration.
As far as what inspires our design work, we have been fortunate to visit many of the world’s most highly regarded golf courses. The courses we find most intriguing and enjoyable are the traditional designs by architects such as Ross, Tillinghast, MacKenzie, Macdonald, and Raynor – gifted designers who possessed the ability to create memorable courses. Regardless of whether a project is new construction or renovation, we strive to apply the same strategic and aesthetic principles that we studied on these classic courses. We are cognizant that the best courses are not only stimulating to look at, but also interesting to play.

We are intimately involved in all phases of each golf course project, and our firm takes seriously the clients’ trust to create a uniquely successful course. The strength of Love Golf Design is that this core team—this extended family—has lived and breathed golf for all of their lives. They’ve done it all, on every side of the business: working at private clubs, resorts, municipal courses; instructing PGA TOUR Professionals and beginners alike; working behind the desk in the pro shop, in golf course management, on the development side, out in the field, even in the accounting office.
